O projeto Conexão Povos da Floresta, iniciativa em rede liderada pelas organizações de base Coordenação Nacional de Articulação das Comunidades Negras Rurais Quilombolas (Conaq), Coordenação das Organizações Indígenas da Amazônia Brasileira (Coiab) e Conselho Nacional das Populações Extrativistas (CNS), alcançou esta semana a marca de 1 mil comunidades indígenas, quilombolas, extrativistas e ribeirinhas conectadas.
A iniciativa, realizada em parceria com mais de 30 organizações da sociedade civil, instituições e empresas, tem como objetivo conectar em rede, através de internet banda larga, mais de 5 mil comunidades em territórios protegidos da Amazônia Legal. O projeto alia conectividade a programas de inclusão, segurança e empoderamento nas comunidades beneficiadas. Iniciativa em rede já beneficiou cerca de 81 mil pessoas.
“Mais do que levar acesso à internet a essas populações, o objetivo é conectá-las em uma rede forte e representativa”, afirma o presidente do conselho deliberativo do Conexão e um dos idealizadores do projeto, Tasso Azevedo.
Como funciona
As comunidades recebem um kit de conectividade que inclui equipamentos como roteador de alta capacidade, antena de internet banda larga via satélite, celular e computador.
Além disso, as comunidades sem acesso à fonte estável de energia também recebem um kit de energia solar, com placas fotovoltaicas e um sistema de baterias de longa duração, que permite manter a rede funcionando 24h por dia.
Para garantir o uso consciente da conexão, um aplicativo foi desenvolvido especificamente para que cada comunidade possa fazer a gestão da sua rede, de acordo com as regras que forem acordadas coletivamente, incluindo cadastro e controle de acesso dos usuários, tempo e horário de uso e filtros de conteúdos indesejados.
Já os programas de saúde, educação, empreendedorismo, entre outros, são oferecidos através de grupos de trabalho organizados entre os integrantes da rede Conexão Povos da Floresta. As ações oferecidas pelos programas incluem, por exemplo, o curso de Sabedoria Digital, voltado aos facilitadores de todas as comunidades, o programa de telemedicina e a formação de empreendedores comunitários.
