Realizado em 2025, o projeto contribuiu para fortalecer a atuação do IPS Brasil na gestão pública municipal
O Índice de Progresso Social (IPS) Brasil oferece um panorama completo sobre o desempenho dos municípios no atendimento às necessidades básicas de seus cidadãos e seus dados podem ser ferramentas estratégicas para os gestores públicos. Em 2025, o projeto IPS Corredor Paragominas–Barcarena fortaleceu o uso do índice na administração municipal, promovendo integração entre secretarias e ampliando a capacidade técnica das equipes locais.
As atividades do projeto incluíram o mapeamento das secretarias municipais relacionadas ao IPS, a articulação institucional e o engajamento prévio. Em seguida, foram realizados workshops nos municípios participantes, reunindo representantes de secretarias como Meio Ambiente, Agricultura, Educação, Saúde, Assistência Social e Administração. O projeto foi concluído com um intercâmbio entre municípios, realizado em Belém, no final de agosto, consolidando o aprendizado e o compromisso com o uso do IPS como ferramenta de monitoramento e planejamento de políticas públicas.
“A iniciativa reforçou o interesse dos municípios em adotar o Índice de Progresso Social como instrumento estratégico de gestão, fortalecendo capacidades locais e contribuindo para a melhoria contínua do desenvolvimento social e territorial na região do Corredor Paragominas-Barcarena”, comenta Beto Veríssimo, coordenador do IPS Corredor.
